Join us as our new Food & Health Applications Associate or Senior Associate for Product Processing
Do you want your impact to be greater, better, wider? As our Applications Associate or Senior Applications Associate, you will lead the study, optimization and preparation of food and beverage prototypes in our Food & Health Lab. You will work in a highly collaborative culture with other lab Associates and Applications Specialists, and together your prototypes will inspire customers, particularly those in the categories of dairy, plant-based dairy, healthy beverages, as well as plant protein ingredients. Your expertise in our specialized prototype scale processing equipment will be a key differentiator for how we support customers. Your work will drive understanding of Novozymes biological solutions in real-world formulas and processes, all the while furthering the cause for healthier, more sustainable living for a growing populace.

In our ambitious new Food & Health Customer Co-Creation Center, we help our customers develop food and beverage products and dietary supplements that appeal to modern consumer demands. We make our science inspiring and accessible. We build trust as expert advisors and share the weight of challenges and the thrill of successes.

In this role you’ll make an impact by:

• Performing experimental work, preparing prototypes, and participating in customer engagement sessions
• Becoming an expert, power- or super-user in methods and processes used in the laboratory
• Collaborating with senior staff to prepare summary of results
• Leading and executing programs that are crtiical to safe, accurate, corporate compliant, and high quality laboratory operations

To succeed you must hold:

• Essential: at minimum a high school diploma with 8+ years relevant experience in working with prototype scale specialized food and beverage processing equipment -OR- BS degree in a food or biomaterials processing-related field. Job title will be commensurate with experience (Application Associate or Senior Applications Associate)
• Desired: BS in Food Science or similar degree with 2 years working with food and beverage processing equipment and experience supporting research of foods and beverage product
• Experience and drive to maintain a high quality, food safe working environment
• Experience and drive to maintain efficient and reliable laboratory and prototype scale equipment
• A mindset where:
  • You get a kick out of successful production of great tasting products at small scale
  • You’re a touch obsessed with continuously looking for ways to improve your work and the environment in which you work
  • Resolving uncertainties in your work and asking for help doesn’t stress you out
  • You’re chomping at the bit to independently tackle a project once provided general direction

Expected salary range: $59,000 - $67,000 for Applications Associate / $67,000 - $75,000 for Sr. Associate
