Our Client, a World recognised and respected Automotive OEM Manufacturer based in rural Warwickshire, are actively seeking a competent and experienced Architectural Designer to join their highly successful team on initially a 6 month contract basis, but with high likelihood of extension at the end of this term.
As the Architectural Designer, you will be part of the team that ensures that all architectural projects meet our Clients exceptional design standards and reflect the brand positioning expected. Projects covered by the team include Dealerships, Car Facilities, Flagship Stores, Events, Multiple Residencies, Private Homes and Automotive Galleries. This role will require continuous evolution to push the creativity beyond expectations for the luxury market whilst also being able to design and manage projects from concept to completion. This is therefore a specialist position requiring a broad range of architectural interior and exterior design knowledge and skills.
On offer to the successful candidate is a negotiable, albeit based on relevant experience, hourly rate. This contract falls within IR35 legislation.
The Key Responsibilities:
- Review initial design requirements / brief with both internal and external teams to ensure concept design is completed efficiently and effectively.
- Develop an initial concept design for the project that pushed the boundaries of creativity and continues to align with the Company’s corporate identity as well as meets the design brief provided and agreed.
- Review and communicate with the project team to understand any feedback and implement while still ensuring the initial concept design intent and Company corporate identity are met.
- If required, produce a set of design intent drawings including a selection of plans, elevations and sections to provide to the project architect.
- Work with the project architect while they complete a full set of construction drawings and regularly review to ensure the completed outcome aligns with all Design and Commercial requirements.
- If required, liaise with their approved suppliers to organise manufacture / supply / installation of the appropriate CI elements.
- Keep continuous communication throughout the design and build process with both internal and external teams to ensure the project is completed as planned.
- Continuously represent the company in a professional manner in meetings both internally and externally.
- Assist the Retail and Real Estate team with ongoing internal administration projects such as appointment of new suppliers, CI updates / evolutions, value engineering, filing and organisation, etc.
Qualifications & Experience ideally required:
- Should ideally be educated to Degree level in a relevant discipline, although lesser qualifications, but plenty of relevant experience will be absolutely fine too.
- You should be an experienced Architectural Designer.
- Full working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD ideally required with knowledge of AutoCAD Architecture.
- You should have strong skills and experience in using Adobe Photoshop for visualisation.
- Full working knowledge of 3D Software, Google Sketchup as a minimum required.
- Competent skills in using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience in working with others in a Design team.
- Good experience of working on projects with Architects and Project Managers and seeing projects from Concept to Completion.
- Good experience in working with and presenting to clients.
- Capability of understanding technical architectural drawings and terminology.
