Motorsport No.2 Mechanic

Our Client, a World recognised and respected Automotive OEM Manufacturer based in rural Warwickshire, are actively seeking a competent and experienced No.2 Motorsport Mechanic to join their first-class team on a 6 month full-time contract basis.

You will be involved here in preparing, servicing and maintaining Motorsport prototype vehicles / bucks to facilitate both whole vehicle & component testing. You will also be supporting overseas testing.

On offer to the successful candidate is a negotiable, albeit based on relevant experience, negotiable basic salary pro-rata.

Key Duties & Responsibilities will include:

• Following H&S guidelines.

• Scrupulous housekeeping duties.

• Following departments COSHH guidelines.

• Vehicle service and repair.

• Vehicle test preparation.

• Vehicle set-up.

• Vehicle build.

• Strip and inspect parts.

• Measure components.

• Fabrication of components.

• HV component assembly and operation (training provided).

• Hydraulic system assembly, bleeding and operation (training provided).

• Maintain basic instrumentation setups.

• Support “flying spanner” activities.

• Liaise with system and development engineers regarding possible issues identified.

• Problem solving to aid in solution of current vehicle issues.

Qualifications & Experience ideally required:

• Should ideally be educated with a Mechanical Engineering qualification level 3 or equivalent.

• Should be a highly skilled Motorsport Mechanic.

• You will have broad multiple years Motorsport experience working previously as a No.2 Mechanic in a high level Motorsport environment.

• Ability to perform detailed inspection is required.

• Failure investigations and problem solving skills needed.

• You will be able to work across functional teams effectively.

• A positive, can do attitude is a must.
