Sr. Account Executive

At Artificial, we are changing how science is done by making the vision of AI-driven labs a reality.  We are redefining lab automation by building a first-of-its-kind software platform that embraces the fundamental roles of people, automation, and AI in the scientific process. Artificial empowers labs to rapidly iterate on and apply their discoveries, whether that’s developing new therapies, cell culturing, diagnostic testing, or production.  


Artificial’s team is composed of experts in life sciences, robotics, automation, visualization, programming languages, data, and development tools, who have built digital tools and platforms for systems and products like LabVIEW, SpaceX ground control, the CERN hadron collider, LEGO Mindstorms, Eclipse and more. As we build, support, and deploy our platform to customers, we’re looking for motivated people passionate about solving real-world problems and ready to make an impact. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of roboticists, scientists, software developers, and designers to build a multifaceted software platform that will transform lab operations. 


Senior Account Executive


Artificial is looking for an Senior Account Executive passionate about helping life science companies adopt transformative technology. This role is perfect for a consultative, growth-oriented sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.  


Responsibilities
  • Identify and prospect target accounts within the life sciences industry, including biotech, pharma, and research organizations. 
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation, product demos, SOW elaboration, contract negotiation, and closing deals.
  • Conduct discovery meetings with key stakeholders such as lab directors, automation engineers, and IT leaders to understand their pain points to develop proposals, presentations, and tailored product demonstrations.
  • Develop and execute account strategies to drive revenue growth with enterprise life science companies. 
  • Collaborate with customer success and technical teams to ensure a smooth onboarding and post-sale experience for new customers.
  • Work with Marketing to develop content and sales tools to help drive the sales process. 
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline and provide regular forecasting updates.
  • Represent the company at industry events.


Requirements
  • 5+ years of SaaS sales experience in the life sciences, biotech, or lab automation space
  • Proven track record of exceeding quota and closing complex enterprise deals 
  • Ability to communicate and engage with scientific and technical audiences at all organizational levels 
  • Strong understanding of the life sciences industry, including challenges and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills 
  • Prior lab or life sciences experience 
  • Up to 30% travel (depending upon location)


Bonus Points
  • Experience selling into biopharma, CROs, or research institutions 
  • Experience selling a development-oriented tool such as an “SDK”
  • Experience with other lab automation products (liquid handlers, scheduling software, LIMS, ELNs)
  • Working knowledge of common biological assays and protocols (e.g., HTS, NGS, PCR, cell engineering/expansion, ELISA, flow cytometry, imaging processes)


$100,000 - $130,000 a year
OTE: $160,000 - $250,000
