We are looking for a Developer Relations Advocate who is passionate about data engineering and automation. You will be a bridge between our product team and our developer community, advocating for their needs while also educating them about our platform’s capabilities. You will be instrumental in building a robust ecosystem around the Ascend platform and ensuring our users are equipped with the tools and knowledge to succeed.
What You’ll Do:
Content Creation: Develop and share high-quality technical content, including blog posts, tutorials, sample code, webinars, and technical documentation that help developers understand how to integrate, use, and optimize our platform.
Community Engagement: Engage with the developer community through various channels, including forums, Slack, GitHub, Stack Overflow, social media, and at events (virtual and in-person). Foster relationships and create a vibrant, active community around our platform.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Assist developers with technical inquiries, helping them solve problems and integrate our platform effectively into their workflows. Ensure a smooth experience for developers at all stages of engagement.
Feedback Loop: Build and maintain feedback loops to ensure the development team is aware of community sentiment and technical challenges, helping to drive product innovation based on real-world use cases.
What We Look For:
We’re looking for a passionate and proactive individual who can engage with developers in a meaningful way, understands the needs of a technical audience, and can articulate complex technical concepts clearly. You should be both a technical expert and a strong communicator with a love for teaching and community-building.
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of modern software development, with experience in Python, as well as modern software development tools.
Experience with Modern Data Technologies: Familiarity with modern data technologies, such as data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming data, and cloud-native data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with Data Warehouses, BI Tools, and SQL: Hands-on experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift); experience with business intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) a plus.
Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to simplify complex technical topics for a diverse audience. Experience creating technical content (e.g., blogs, videos, tutorials).
Problem-Solving: A natural problem solver with a passion for helping developers. Able to troubleshoot issues and offer solutions effectively and empathetically.
Self-Motivated & Collaborative: You’re a self-starter with a drive to succeed, but you also thrive in a collaborative environment. Comfortable working with cross-functional teams to bring feedback and insights into the product development cycle.
This role is Hybrid and requires Monday office attendance in our Palo Alto HQ. The reasonably estimated base salary for this role ranges from $110,000 - $160,000 USD, plus a competitive equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
