Position Overview:
Navistar is looking for exceptionally talented and technically oriented individuals to join us as Assemblers. The assembler will perform various assembly work on sub or main progressive lines requiring a maximum degree of accuracy.
Starting pay rate is: $17 / hour.
Responsibilities:
- Align, fit and adjust a number of complex parts having close tolerances, or being a major functional component of the complete assembly

May require testing of complete unit or sub-assembly, ability to work from blueprints, sketches and specifications
Involves setting up job and use of either hand or power tools -
May be required to work individually or in a group setting. Both individual and group assignments will require flexibility

Thorough knowledge and skill is necessary
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
Additional Requirements:
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.

Physical Requirements (Ability to do the following up to 10 hours per shift):

Walk, stand, sit, bend, twist/turn, kneel, squat, crawl

Climb using both legs and arms

Head/neck movement

Reach outward or above the shoulder

Lift, carry, push, or pull 30-50 pounds

Repetitive use of hands and fingers

Repetitive use of vibrating tools

Able to operate or to work hazardous machinery
Desired Skills:
- At least one year of prior manufacturing experience as an Assembler
