Job Summary
The Assistant Brand Manager (ABM) is a key contributor to the overall brand team, responsible for leading cross functional teams in planning, execution and analysis of various business initiatives. The ABM role is a general management role with P&L responsibility and includes development of strategic business and marketing plans to achieve sales, profit and share objectives. This position leverages creative, analytic, and strategic skills to help drive a brand/product portfolio.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Contribute to and support comprehensive short and long-term strategic plans. Lead and manage plans that deliver net sales and profit growth for assigned product lines.
- Work with Category Management and Sales to proactively monitor competitive product and pricing activity, and recommend strategic and tactical actions to achieve objectives
- Collaborate directly with Brand Marketing, Sales and Category teams in the development and execution of high-quality, insights-driven, retailer or channel specific solutions that link to brand strategies.
- Partner with Consumer Insights to build research and learning plan for actionable insights, innovation strategy, new product commercialization, and go-to-market strategies
- Lead and manage cross-functional project teams to execute new product launches, product renovations or specification changes, packaging design, artwork approvals, SKU and materials management and financial feasibility exercises
- Actively participate in developing and managing consumer programs, including media, strategic partnerships, and customer relationships. Assist agency partners as required to ensure effective and efficient translation of marketing strategies into activation plans
- Provide timely and comprehensive analysis of objectives, execution, and future planning implications. Analyze business performance (shipment and consumption) to gauge performance against brand objectives; derive key implications to help inform/evolve our path forward. Develop implications and program recommendations.
- Manage marketing spending budget and report on spending results
- Encourage organizational and customer engagement, alignment and excitement for the brand! Drive alignment behind brand strategy with senior management and key commercial stakeholders. Responsible for consulting with cross-functional partners and driving alignment across the organization
Education and Experience Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or Management required. MBA preferred
- 1-3 years of marketing or business experience preferred
