ASSISTANT PROGRAM MANAGER-R&D - PROGRAM MANAGER-R&D - PROJECT MANAGER

The Intelligent Systems Division develops automated solutions for commercial and government clients in multiple domains including transportation (traffic management, connected automated vehicle), manufacturing robotics, medical prognostics and communication standards.

Objectives of this Role:

• Join the team to apply your experience leading and managing a diversified technical team on engineering projects from program inception through hardware/software development, implementation, testing & support.
• Apply program/project management experience, including interacting with clients to promote expansion of projects, proposal preparation and development of long term programs.
• Successfully manage the quadruple constraint for engineering projects, including preparing/tracking budgets using earned value management, management of technical scope to meet program requirements and use of MS Project scheduling to manage milestones/deliverables.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Provide program/project management leadership of projects involving software and hardware development, system engineering, maintenance and support for mix of state Government and commercial clients.
• Provide support of business development efforts including interaction with clients to define requirements and develop SOWs, preparation of white papers and development of proposals.
• Understand applied research solutions and develop and apply them to meet customer objectives.
• Accountable for planning and allocating resources, preparing budgets, monitoring progress, and keeping stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle.
• Effectively and efficiently communicate with team and customers.

Requirements:

• Requires a Bachelors in Computer Science or related IT degree, must have a PMP and experience leading technical engineering teams.
• 5-10 years: Experience with project management and leadership of technical projects, including the management of diverse engineering teams, interfacing with clients, and the successful management of projects within triple constraint.
• Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
• Strong organizational, management, communications, technical, and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• A valid/clear driver's license is required.
