PART TIME FACULTY: STORYBOARDING (FALL ’23)

The Department of Film & Media Arts is seeking an individual to teach FILM 2650: Storyboarding during the Fall 2023 semester on our Salt Lake City campus. The is a 4 credit class. The class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:05 to 5PM.

Course Description: Introduction to storyboarding, planning, and basics of story structure. Integration of concepts such as shot types, continuity, pacing, transitions and sequencing into a visual narrative. Exploration of cinematic vocabulary and storyboard technique in the creation of both personal and professional expression. Development of story that integrates classic storytelling structure.

Required qualifications

Applicants should have at least a bachelor’s degree in film, animation, or a related discipline and experience teaching film and/or animation production at the postsecondary level.


Preferred qualifications

Experience teaching storyboarding or other elements of visual storytelling and preproduction at the postsecondary level.


Responsibilities

It is understood that teaching assignments in the Department of Film & Media Arts may include the following:-Developing a syllabus.-Ordering in advance books and materials for students in the class to purchase on or before the first day of classes.-Preparing for classes.-Holding office hours each week to meet with students in the class.-Grading all student assignments and examinations for the course in a timely manner and turning in final grades according to University policies and procedures.


Pay range $1250 per credit hour minimum
