SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALISTJob SummaryThe Social Media/Marketing Coordinator supports the Philanthropy& Communications Team's efforts to grow NHMU's brand and drivemuseum admissions by promoting exhibitions, events, and sciencestories while maintaining brand standards across various marketingchannels. As a valued member of our team, the SocialMedia/Marketing Coordinator will assume a broad set ofresponsibilities with emphases in social media management, videocontent creation, photography, copywriting, and campaign analysis.A confident self-starter with a familiarity of social media trendsand experience in video production will excel in thisposition.ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities will include:• Social Media: Take a leading role managing the Museum’s presenceon social media. Responsibilities will include frequent videocontent creation, photography, management of a boosting budget, andregular reporting on campaign performance.• Visual Storytelling: Produce compelling visual content for use onand beyond social media, including the Museum’s website, emails,printed collateral, and other materials. Subject matter will bediverse, from documenting fossil excavations in southern Utah tofilming public events at the Museum. Secondary responsibilitieswill include:• Website Management: Using a Drupal 10 CMS, build, review, andedit website content including that produced by other departmentsto ensure accuracy and adherence to copy and designstandards.• Constituent Relationship Management (CRM): Conduct occasionalconstituent relationship management in the Museum’s CRM andConstant Contact to maintain healthy databases for email and directmail campaigns.• Blog Writing: Write occasional blog articles to help fulfill theMuseum’s editorial calendar.• Campaign Reporting: Generate reports to analyze marketing effortsusing Google Analytics, social media analytics, Constant Contactcampaign performance, and other tools.• Outreach: Conduct occasional outreach marketing by tabling atcommunity events.• Podcast: When time permits, continue advancing the Museum’spodcast goals.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, MassCommunications, English, Liberal Arts, or a related area, orequivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two yearsof related work experience) required. Experience in desktoppublishing, word processing, computer networks and web page designpreferred. Experience in public relations work or the print newsmedia also preferred.Preferences● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written andverbal.● Experience providing marketing support to internal and externalaudiences.● Experience in mirrorless or DSLR camera systems.● Experience in Adobe Creative Suite.● Interest in science and natural history.Special InstructionsRequisition Number: PRN39449BFull Time or Part Time?
