Acxiom is looking for an Associate Automation Engineer to analyze problems, gather requirements, design, develop and configure the IaaS management layer which supports the integration, automation, testing, deployment and ongoing operational support of software releases for Acxiom’s IT infrastructure. You will write code to develop tools that support the full IT lifecycle, from procurement through service operations. You will interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
Responsibilities:

Produce quality code that is efficient, secure, supportable and consistent from project to project
-
Complete coding tasks – examples include APIs, integration modules and other applications
-
Establish application / domain specific architecture
-
Provide software architecture/engineering representation in support of IT architecture activities
-
Possess a sound understanding of Acxiom functional and business objectives that drive and shape technology requirements and design deliverables.

Evaluate requirements and define an organized code plan that estimates the tasks needed for the overall project
-
Ensure that all capabilities delivered align with original business objectives, services levels, IT strategies and design intent.

Collaborate with other engineers and architects, within IT and other parts of Acxiom, to drive guidelines and documentation.

Provide advanced technical expertise, oversight and accountability for resolution of outages, service level issues and other events in partnership with support teams.

Closely partner with information security to ensure all applicable security, compliance standards, and requirements are incorporated into software/service design.
Requirements:
-
2+ years domain (software or systems engineering) experience
-
1+ years developing automation tooling and / or APIs in Java, Python, or Ruby
-
1+ years scripting experience (bash, Python, etc.)
-
Knowledge and experience with Linux
-
Ability to translate business requirements into IT solutions.
-
Experience designing, developing, testing complex software solutions to support distributed, scalable and highly available applications
-
Professionalism in dealing with all levels of management and staff.
-
Able to analyze cross-platform, multi-service issues.

Able to define process improvements.
Additional Qualifications:

Experience implementing APIs

Experience with IaaS including software-defined infrastructure, defining service catalogs

Experience with virtualization and cloud management platforms (Xen, KVM, VMware, OpenStack)

Experience with external Cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft, etc.)

Experience with distributed systems (Hadoop, Cassandra, Zookeeper, etc.)
-
Experience developing web based applications
-
Experience with various network and security technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto, A10, etc.)
