Role Summary

The Associate Director, Insights & Analytics Solid Tumor will lead development and implementation of market research, competitive intelligence, and other analyses to support the US Oncology business for all solid tumors.

The Associate Director, Insights & Analytics Solid Tumor will engage in active collaboration across multiple functions including marketing, sales, market access, and external partners, to generate insights that will optimize performance in our current and future solid tumor indications. This role will be a critical member of the commercial launch team for upcoming solid tumor indications. This role will report to the Director of Commercial Insights & Analytics.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Primary Market Research
    • Lead primary market research and analytics to provide valuable customer and competitive insights that support brand strategies (e.g. ATU, promotional effectiveness, segmentation, chart audits, TPP development)
    • Provide an objective market viewpoint based on an in-depth understanding and analysis of customer and environmental information; provide recommendations on marketing strategies and tactic effectiveness
    • Establish strong relationships with external partners through effective vendor management; hold partners accountable for high quality work, on time and within budget
    • Liaise with Marketing to support market research activities for brands; more broadly as an internal consultant to stakeholders across marketing, sales, market access, clinical, regulatory, finance, and manufacturing functions, among others

  • Competitive Intelligence
    • Develop actionable competitive insights through secondary research and primary qualitative and quantitative research; effectively integrate primary and secondary research resources and activities
    • Provide perspectives and recommendations regarding broader market trends within oncology

  • Other duties as required or directed by the Manager or Functional Management

Education and Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or equivalent experience; graduate degree a plus
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in market research, forecasting, analytics, consulting, and/or decision support in the biopharmaceutical industry; extensive experience with primary market research (qualitative and quantitative)
  • Experience in oncology, preferably US
  • Financial modelling and quantitative analytics experience a plus, with a focus on the application of market research outputs as inputs into forecasts
  • Demonstrated understanding of key steps and checkpoints in market research process: study design components, appropriate use of statistics, and analytical applications
  • Experience with non-traditional market research design and execution, including analysis of small sample sizes and generating insights based on limited primary data
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and work independently when appropriate, as well as in teams
  • Demonstrated strong strategic thinking and an ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of people and functions
  • Effective vendor, budget, and timeline management with ability to seamlessly execute on strategy
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage both at the strategic and tactical levels, including demonstrated project management skills
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to represent the market analytics function on commercial and cross- functional teams

Travel and Location
  • Boston based candidates preferred but not required
  • Able to travel for meetings, market research, and conferences, as required by position up to 25%

Salary Range
The salary range for this role is $180-210k. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Employees in this position are also eligible for Short-Term and Long-Term incentive programs.
