Associate Editor

Focusing on travel, destination and hospitality content, the Associate Editor supports the editorial team—print and digital—with editing, proofreading, writing and some project management tasks. This role reports to the Senior Editor and Creative Director.


This is a temporary, full-time position, with the potential to extend or to transition to permanent work in this or another role at the company.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Create and edit content in WordPress, AEM, Word, Excel and InDesign
  • Craft creative, audience-centric copy, using specific detail and avoiding marketing clichés
  • Maintain attention to detail and provide clean copy
  • Develop subject matter expertise for designated account
  • Understand and enforce clients’ brand guidelines and project style guide
  • Collaborate with art team peers to ensure copy and images work together
  • Actively participate in status meetings, brainstorms and ideation sessions

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:


Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or a related field


Experience:


2 or more years experience in an editorial role in a fast-paced environment, such as working at a content/media agency or a print or digital publication.


Skills:


  • Experience using a Content Management System (such as Adobe Experience Manager and WordPress)
  • Exceptional writing/editing skills and a high attention to detail
  • Strong sense of initiative and ownership for creating and publishing content from start to finish
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with client contacts around the world

The salary for this position will range from $34,000.00 - $45,000.00, depending on experience, education, geographical location, and other factors.
