A South Miami company is seeking an Accounting Manager from an Insurance or Banking industry to join their team!Description:Developing and maintaining accounting principles and best practices to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. Implements best practices and ensures accrual general ledger and accounting methods adhere to the US GAAP Reporting. Also will review operating procedures, company controls and compliance measures to determine any potential hazards or breaches of conduct.• Manage the preparation of monthly business unit and consolidated financial statements, and detailed internal financial reports, including research and explanation.• Create and manage the preparation of weekly and monthly reports to support departmental and business needs.• Support Corporate Controller in key consolidation reports and analysis.• Manage key accounting tasks/deliverables.• Provide ad hoc financial reports, tables, exhibits as requested• Assesses the needs of the business, prioritize projects and drive new reporting• Support the preparation and analysis of the quarterly consolidated financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, statement of comprehensive income, stakeholders’ equity and statement of cash flows• Perform quality assurance and deliver recurring reports accurately and on time.• Interpret and analyze financial information posted to general ledger accounts• Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.• Play crucial role in implementing new software for department improvement and efficiency.• Research balance sheet items and income/expense fluctuations utilizing various systems and information sources.• Play a key role in updating and developing a new financial reporting framework within the General Ledger.• Interface with other functional areas to ensure reporting integrity and accuracy.• Partner with finance team for analysis, planning and reporting needs.• Report all findings to management with recommendations for improvement, and upon their approval, implement strategies to induce such change.• Liaison with the audit team to prepare the audited financial statements for each entity.• Assist with the quarterly and annual disclosure.Skills & Qualifications:• Standard accounting principles, best practices, and procedures.• Experience with process documentation of accounting procedures and internal controls in a dynamic environment• Create a cost/expense allocation to appropriately share expenses across various projects, business units, and reporting entities.• Possess a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure• Financial consolidations, eliminations, and segment reporting• Ability to read and interpret accounting rules and guidance as well as perform research and conduct investigations as necessary.• Knowledge in Microsoft Office, JD Edwards, blackline, Power BI, Oracle• Bilingual Spanish/EnglishAbout Aston Carter:Aston Carter provides world-class corporate talent solutions to thousands of clients across the globe.
