Job Description• Partner with Executives to develop, implement, and measure financial progress on strategic business plans and operating initiatives.• Advise the CEO and other key members of the senior leadership team on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.• Serve as the liaison to the board, finance, and audit committee members through effective communication and presentation of critical financial matters at select board of directors and finance committee meetings.• Partner with the leadership team to execute the development of strategic goals and objectives, as well as the overall management of the organization.• Represent the organization externally by building relationships with key partners such as banks, donors, vendors, outside consultants, and other financial institutions to stay close to major expenditures and sources of revenue.• Lead and develop a team of finance professionals responsible for financial reporting, planning, and analysis.• Oversee and evolve financial and operational metrics, analysis, and support tools to deliver actionable value-added insights to the functions supported by the programs teams and the Executive team.• Serve as part of the leadership team, helping to develop and execute multi-year business plans and strategies that advance the organization's priorities and intended impact.• Oversee the development and maintenance of short and long-range financial models that incorporate key business drivers and assist Senior Management in making financial decisions.• Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and other supervisory responsibilities.• Provide appropriate oversight and collaborate with program directors to offer support on fiscal matters related to grants.• Ensure reports are available within set time periods for various parties, including the CEO, COO, VPs, Directors and senior leaders, the Board, and outside agencies as necessary.• Exercise sound executive business judgment and the ability to listen, assess, and strategize with the team, at a micro and macro level, in the development and implementation of strategic and operational initiatives.• Analyze contracts agency-wide and make recommendations for changes on strategy, spending, and acquisitions.• Demonstrate a strong internal presence as a role model, mentor, and motivator for staff regarding the vision and mission of the organization.• Negotiate and manage all information technology, telecommunications, and major software contracts for the organization.• Review short and long-term goals in light of existing and projected financial resources.• Oversee the organization's investment portfolio and work with Board committees as the designated staff person.Hard Skills• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting related discipline required; MBA, Master’s is a definite plus• 10+ years of experience in financial analysis• Senior management role ideally with in-house financial management experience• Preference for experience either as an employee or board member of a nonprofit organization• Familiar with non-profit finance and accounting regulations (MUST HAVE NON PROFIT EXPERIENCE)• Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change/development within a growing organization.• Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.• Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker.• Ability to work independently in a fast-past environment.
