We are seeking a well versed and energetic professional to lead our finance and accounting department. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in manufacturing and government contract accounting, along with proven supervisory experience. This role will have the Controller and Office Manager as direct reports.Key Responsibilities:- Supervise all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and analysis.- Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and deliver monthly financial reports to senior management and the parent company.- Train and mentor the finance team, ensuring efficient and effective departmental performance.- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local government accounting and financial reporting regulations.- Manage government contract accounting, including invoicing, preparation and submission of indirect rates, and compliance with FAR and DFARS.- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to strengthen and protect the company's financial position.- Perform financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.- Coordinate the preparation of tax workpapers with the external accounting firm.- Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.- Optimize ERP systems to streamline financial processes and enhance data accuracy and accessibility.Hard Skills- Bachelors in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred- 10+ years GL accounting experience- 5 years supervisory experience- Govcon accounting experience (understanding of government billing, pricing, proposals, indirect rates, FAR/DFAR, etc.)- Excel - pivot tables, vlookupsAbout Aston Carter:Aston Carter provides world-class corporate talent solutions to thousands of clients across the globe.
