Atomic is looking for a Corporate Accountant to join our Portfolio Companies Finance team. This newly opened role will be involved in everything from financial reporting to cashflow analysis. Our team helps companies strategize on scaling and growing their finance function as their team grows. This is a hybrid position (3x weekly), located in our SF office.
Reporting to the Controller, the Corporate Accountant will serve as an integral member of the finance team, managing the day-to-day transactions of multiple companies in a variety of industries. The ideal candidate will be a humble team player that puts the firm first and can operate well in the details while also understanding the bigger picture.
What You'll Do:- Support 5+ companies from early growth, Pre-revenue to Series A+
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Responsible for the full cycle of A/P and addressing billing inquiries
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Review and process employee expense reports in compliance with company policy
- Maintain Balance Sheet schedules including Prepaid Expenses, Fixed Assets, Accrued Expenses, and Notes Payable
- Assist in the gathering of information for the filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for the portfolio company entities with the Atomic Director of Tax and the external accounting firm
- Research and opine on accounting-related topics
- Ensure compliance with current policies and procedures
- Ad hoc finance/accounting projects as needed
What You Have:- 2-3 years of experience – must have prior accounting experience
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- Prior startup or tech experience is a plus
- Demonstrated success on a high caliber team working on multiple projects with tight timelines and competing priorities
- Ability to effectively communicate technical topics/issues to upper-level executives, both verbal and written
- Proficiency with GL software and interest in financial reporting systems
- Experience with QBO, Brex, Ramp, BILL, Expensify is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and external
- CPA license preferred

$70,000 - $100,000 a year
Salary range is dependent on experience.
