The Opportunity:

We’re hiring a Strategic Design Lead 12 month max-term position, to sit within the Product Strategy & Innovation team within AP+ which drives product research, proposition development and product design, as well as innovation, across much of our business.

Please note, this is not a Product Design role. We are specifically seeking experienced Strategic Designers who can lead the design function within our team. This role requires expertise in strategic design, which goes beyond product design and focuses on areas like ideation facilitation, value proposition development, customer journey mapping, systems thinking, and aligning design strategies with business goals. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of how design drives organisational impact and innovation and will be skilled in leading cross functional teams to deliver holistic, user-centred solutions.

This role will see you deliver consistent customer experiences across all products, drive innovation, and work closely with Product, Technology, and Commercial teams to bring ideas to life and solve meaningful problems for our members and the payments industry.

To be successful in the position you’ll take a leading role in product research, ideation facilitation, value proposition design, feature definition, customer experience, prototyping, desirability and usability validation, product strategy and storytelling.

The capabilities we’re seeking are:

  • Robust experience working in a Strategic Lead product design and research role ideally within the Fintech / Finance sectors.
  • Proven leadership experience where you have been responsible for delivering best in class work.
  • Deep experience working with Figma in order to create low-high fidelity storyboards, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes. 
  • Ability to align customer experience with the processes and systems that are required to deliver the service. 
  • Experience planning and facilitating large workshops with diverse stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams.  
  • Influencing stakeholder attitudes, decisions, and actions for mutual benefit.
