The Automation Engineer (0823) Opportunity:
Veev is looking for an outstanding Automation Engineer to develop our manufacturing processes and current and in development equipment, including, but not limited to electronics, servo motors, server systems, Controls PLC's and HMI's, Material Handling systems.
On the floor, 50% of the time or more, solves daily electronic issues, bus lines and conveyer systems integration, load bank testing. Equipment designs are simple to complex and our automation engineer will figure out how to run these systems.
As part of the Manufacturing Engineering team, focused on moving our equipment to predictable performance. Supports the commissioning and operation of our equipment from both an electrical and controls perspective. In addition, the Automation Engineer will work alongside our production and maintenance team on daily machine preventative issues, supporting the design, installation and commissioning of new equipment, and system design/document using ISO,ANSO, and RIA standards. PLC programing of machine and safety logic are a must for our Automation Engineer. Come disrupt and change the way housing is built and experienced!
In this Role, You Will:
Support the design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment on our factory floor
Work along with production and maintenance team on daily machine preventative issues
Be responsible for electrical design and documentation of control and power distribution systems for industrial automation
Prepare work instructions for maintenance and production groups to institute TPM process on new as well as existing equipment.
Use your expertise with AutoCAD for interpretation and advising production activities
Own safety system design and documentation using relevant ISO, ANSI, and RIA standards
Use PLC programming of machine logic and safety logic
Own device and equipment networking
Lead HMI development, with emphasis on SCADA equipment and language/code programming and maintenance.
Collaborate with equipment vendors and integrators to implement our manufacturing processes and architecture
Assist with process and production line design
Requirements, Knowledge and Experience:
3 years of experience in Industrial Automation (Automotive background preferred) with a focus on electrical and controls design
Ability to work in an ambiguous, less structured environment; partners with Equipment Manager to ensure more predictable environment
3D CAD software (Solidworks/Catia/3DExperience or Inventor)
2D CAD software (AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical)
Rockwell PLC programming (Studio 5000, RS Logix)
HMI development experience (FactoryTalk View or equivalent)
Fanuc/ABB/Kuka robot programming experience is a plus
Mechanical design of equipment, fixtures, and robot end effectors is a plus
Machine vision experience is a plus
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Compensation:
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location is $120,000 - $135,000 annually for Hayward, CA and surrounding areas. This role is also eligible for stock options, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, flexible paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
