Summary of job contents

As high level application expert, provides best technical consulting and solutions for key applications to the sales teams and to the customers in the reference industry segments. Takes commercial considerations fully into account when proposing solutions. Has project responsibility but not customer responsibility. Conceptual proposal of machine design, also based on CAD within the Pre-Sales Phase.

Key accountabilities

• Provides technical support to sales and customers on specific applications and production processes of the industry segments.

• Focus on commercial and technical feasibility of proposals, based on technical and application knowledge for the corresponding Industry/Technology Segment.

• Proposes customer specific solutions, in accordance with the regulations of the industry segments in question (Machinery Directive, etc.).

• Responsible for specification lists for the specific industry segments (e.g. Project Books*)

• Creates Requirement Specification together with the customer

• Main interface to Project Engineer (further execution of the project)

• Handle Lead Customer projects with latest FESTO products

• Discuss machine concepts to optimize machines, Define specification and concept

• Supports and provides ISM with products/applications requirements as input for ISP

• Supports in Question of Norms, Regulations

• Identify and win projects based on excellent application /automation/Sector competence

• Knowledge Transfer to BD for Multiplication of Solutions

  
  

Core dimensions

• During the pre-sales phase acts for specific applications of the industry/technology segments as interface between customer and all relevant departments within Festo, always in coordination with the sales engineer

• Provides technical training and arranges knowledge transfer to the Team for the specific products/applications of the relevant industry segment

  
  

Knowledge and Experience preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree (BS in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering) or technical equivalent from a four year College or University

• 7+ years minimum experience in project managing, machine design or conceptual development

• Industry specific knowledge, special in application and processes for ELA

• Ideally experience in sales and customer responsibility for international key accounts

• Excellent contact and communication skills
