Rabobank requires a Research Analyst who aspires to help guide the North American Animal Protein and Dairy sectors in continuing their journeys toward a more environmentally sustainable future. As a Food & Ag (F&A) Sustainability Analyst for these Animal Agriculture sectors you are a member of the North American RaboResearch F&A team, with a focus on sustainability topics. RaboResearch is Rabobank’s knowledge center in Food & Agribusiness (F&A) and is staffed with analysts located around the globe.

As a RaboResearch Food & Agribusiness Analyst you will be successful assessing the impacts of climate change and broader environmental issues on economic and ecologic F&A business/clients performance.
You analyze which transition and physical risks are associated with the animal agriculture space being impacted by climate change, and what the animal protein and dairy value chains can do to mitigate these risks and adapt. You are a key liaison and sparring partner for other Animal Protein and Dairy specialists within RaboResearch and for other departments of Rabobank. You provide unique insights and proposals that feed strategic discussions and decision-making for clients as well as within Rabobank.
Job Responsibilities:
Produces high quality research and analysis of target sectors for use by both internal and external stakeholders. Supports other analysts in producing thought leading research within their sector.
Prepares quality research publications targeted at rural, business banking and corporate clients. Produces reports and presentations on the back of research.
Engages with clients by delivering thought leadership on key strategic questions. Initiates new business ideas/insights for clients. Gives presentations to client audiences and stakeholders. Shares global sector views with clients at boardroom level and local sector views where applicable. Contributes to F&A transactions for global and regional clients.
Supports the profiling of Rabobank as the F&A thought leader to its clients by creating unique, innovative and differentiating views on F&A sectors and companies. Prepares and delivers papers and presentations to profile RaboResearch within the bank to its internal stakeholders. Provides media commentary on key issues relating to target sectors.
Contributes to the RaboResearch knowledge base by sharing and aligning new reports and views, and by being an active member in regional and global sector teams.

To be considered for the RaboResearch Food & Agribusiness Analyst role, you must have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Economics, Environmental Economics, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Dairy Science, Business, Economics, Finance, Sustainability, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a food or agribusiness sustainability related analytical or business development role with an agribusiness company, financial institution or industry association.
Proficient with: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Teams, Internet.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to effectively speak, read, and write in English is essential, and Spanish language skills are desirable.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Must be able to travel throughout bank’s footprint to perform required duties (25% to 50%). 80% of travel is typically domestic.
You should have:
Logical and analytical, with excellent quantitative and qualitative research skills.
Strong knowledge of agriculture, agribusiness, and environmental sustainability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high level of competence in report structuring, preparing and delivering presentations.
Practical and results-oriented, with strong level of self-motivation in order to deliver services to meet internal and external client expectations.
Manage priorities in a multi-project workload, working to deadlines.
Identify, plan and conduct analysis in order to deliver results on a research or marketing project.
Resourceful in sourcing industry and company specific information.
Sound judgment and initiative. Ability to work productively in a team, think critically and debate issues.
Ability to represent the bank in a professional manner to external customers from corporate, industry and farm/ranch environments.
Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with internal and external clients. Has an existing network of Food & Ag industry contacts.
Ability to conduct statistical/econometric analysis.
Graduate degree in related discipline desirable.

Salary Expectations:
Target Hiring Range: $120,000 - $160,000
This position is subject to the terms of [RAF/Rabobank/RDS]’s compensation plans and policies. It is anticipated that the position will pay within the target hiring range. The range is reflective of the desired primary physical work location and may be adjusted outside of the projected range based on geographical differentiation if the actual work location of the hired candidate differs from the desired primary location, or for other lawful reasons. Further, all full-time regular position includes all other benefits provided to [RAF/Rabobank/RDS] employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.
