Job Description The Holston Army Ammunition Plant is a major supplier of explosive materials to the U.S. Department of Defense. The facility has state-of-the-art equipment and capabilities for nitration chemistry, acid handling and recovery, and other chemical-processing operations. As an Assistant Controller you will;• Assists Controller in managing the activities of the accounting and compliance functions.• Maintains accounting policies in order to provide specific direction towards accomplishing business unit objectives.• Provides effective communication to all levels of the business area and Sector.• Provides training, coaching, counseling, and technical guidance to department personnel.• Will participate in hiring for the group, including interns.• Acts as an advisor to subordinates to meet and schedule and objectives and/or resolve technical problems.• Provides leadership to accounting group and maintains adequate training and backups.• Maintain procedures and internal control system to safeguard assets and implement company accounting policies ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).• Reviews and analyzes financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company and industry standards.• Responsible for monthly close and financial results.• Demonstrates newly acquired skills and keeps abreast of pertinent changes in the accounting field.• Other duties as required within Finance functions.Manager would be open to established BAE Systems working on other locations.Required Education, Experience, & Skills• Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience• Supervisory experience.• Ability to communicate and influence all levels of organization in the business decision-making process.• Ability to make clear presentation to all levels of management concerning accounting processes.• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and delegate.• Understanding of financial concepts and accounting standards• Experience with ERP systemsPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills• Knowledge of accounting in a U.S. Government contracting environment• Financial Close familiarity• Project improvement experience• Experience dealing with auditors.• CPA/CMA Certification• Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.• Master’s degree in Accounting/Business Administration• ERP integration involvement• Experience with Banking and Cash Management• Experience dealing with insurance carriersPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $101520 - $172620Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
