Job SummaryJOB DESCRIPTIONUnder the direct supervision of a Director or above, the Project Manager, will provide advisory services to a variety of Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, and Medical Device clients to meet their operational challenges across all stages of product development and across several therapeutic areas. The Project Manager will also support clients with winning and executing Government awards under Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and other USG Federal Funding Agencies, private or public companies and nonprofit organizations supporting civilian and military product development.Job Duties• Serves as the primary point of contact between the Client and the BDO team as well as the funding organization, if applicable• Builds and manages a complex project team responsible for product development being funded through government contracts or through other funding mechanisms, including private or public companies or nonprofit organizations (i.e., commercial funders)• Responsibilities for all Project Management activities including but not limited to: developing and tracking the schedule, budget and Statement of Work, communication and risk management plan, status reports, and managing all deliverables• Communicates with project stakeholders and external collaborators on an ongoing basis and coordinate transfer of materials between internal and external stakeholders• Holds regular status meetings with project teams to include preparing and distributing agendas, data documents, and meeting minutes• Keeps project team well informed of upcoming milestones, changes and general news• Ensures that all Government (BARDA/DOD/NIH, NIAID, etc.) requirements are being met for government funded clients and/or ensure all engagement requirements are being achieved for commercial clients• Communicates to the client on the status of the project, the timeline and the budget• Ensures that all client expectations are being met or exceeded• Assists the BDO team with meeting or exceeding annual revenue projections• Other duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities• Supervises client engagements, maintains client relations, and provides client support• Oversees assigned Senior Associates and AssociatesEducationQualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline relevant to the life sciences industry, required• Master’s degree or PhD/MBA, preferredExperience• Three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical biopharmaceutical, or life sciences industry, required• Additional experience in a consulting role, preferredLicense(s)/Certification(s)• PMP Certification or another Project Management Certification, preferredSoftware• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, requiredOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically business/report writing• Strong analytical and basic research skills• Strong organizational skills, especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details• Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously• Ability to follow and apply specific rules and regulations• Ability to work with minimal supervisionAbout UsJoin us at BDO, where you will find more than a career, you’ll find a place where your work is impactful, and you are valued for your individuality.
