The Better Business Bureau of MN and ND is currently seeking a motivated college student to be our part-time Social Media Intern, onsite at our Burnsville, MN office. If this could be you, keep reading!

About the internship

As part of BBB’s paid internship program, you’ll get to experience real day-to-day work in your field of study, complete a meaningful summer-long project, participate in cross-departmental development opportunities, and network with some of the largest brands in the region.


Position Summary:

The BBB Social Media Intern will work closely with and report to the Communications Specialist. The main project will be to work on growing BBB’s online awareness through effective and sophisticated social media campaigns, with the goal of reaching a larger and more diverse audience. 


Responsibilities include:

· Help to build a strategy for specific social media campaigns (original text, images, video) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action.

· Monitor and engage with followers and prospective followers on social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok.

· Provide monthly reports on social media engagement and analytics.

· Support BBB team by sharing and promoting important information across all internal departments.

· Serve as a brand ambassador at various BBB events, including Member Connect, Accredited Business Happy Hour, Team Meetings and more!

What we’re looking for in our interns:

· Current college sophomore or junior pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Graphic Design or related field. 

· A devoted user and consumer of social media. Experience using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and TikTok. 

· Ability to take initiative and be an accountable and dependable teammate.

· Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, communication, and time management skills.

· Eager to learn and adapt to new responsibilities.

· Effective planning and organizational skills and are highly detail oriented. 

· Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adjust workload accordingly.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, with demonstrated capability in Word, Excel and Outlook. Adobe and Canva knowledge is a plus! 

· Knowledge of social media scheduling platforms is a plus, but not required.

Schedule/Work Location/ Pay 

· BBB will work with you to create a schedule that is flexible to meet your student needs! The preferred schedule is 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Fridays. Occasional Tuesday and Thursday meetings may be requested by BBB to meet the demands of the department. 

· This internship role is in-office, and located at our Burnsville Office: 220 S. River Ridge Circle, Burnsville, MN

· The pay range for this position is $17 hour.

· The internship program starts Wednesday, May 28th and lasts to Friday, August 29th, 2025. BBB will be flexible on your start and end date if needed.
