Job Title: Production Worker
Position Location: Salem, OR
Business Unit: Kerr Concentrates
Primary Function
The production worker is responsible for assisting with the operation and monitoring of the food processing equipment in accordance with Kerr Concentrates, Inc. policies (including GMP and Safety) procedures and applicable laws.

Key Deliverables

Assist with the operation and monitoring of processing equipment in accordance with internal specifications.

Accurately document production activities using HACCP forms, sanitation checklists and daily production reports.

Perform accurate testing of in process product samples.

Accurately transfer information from one source to another.

Ability to understand simple and complex instruction in both verbal, diagram and written form.

Perform pre-operation sanitation inspections of equipment with QC to ensure product safety.

Ability to work in a physically demanding job where you will be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, high noise levels, water, vibration and moving mechanical parts.

Ability to recognize problems in your area and notifying the appropriate person if it is something you can not take care of yourself.

Awareness of the product flow and how it affects your area.

Communicate any problems with equipment or product at shift change.

Keep your area safe and clean across all shifts. Communicate any hazards at shift change. Ensure your area is left in good shape for the next shift.

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
-
Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift over 50 pounds.

Must have at least 20/40vision in both eyes with or without correction.

Posses or have the ability to obtain a forklift certification
-
Basic math skills including common fractions and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to interpret bar graphs.

Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English

Ability to troubleshoot and also solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
