Vice President - Agency Securities Lending Senior Trader

VICE PRESIDENT - AGENCY SECURITIES LENDING SENIOR TRADER (JOB NUMBER: SEC001212)


Business Overview:

BNP Paribas Securities Services incorporates several distinct, yet complementary businesses including securities lending. The Agency Lending business is seeking qualified candidates to assist in the continued development of the product in North and South America. With almost a hundred front and back office staff based across three international locations, the candidate will play an intricate role in the trading component of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Enhancement of automation for Agency Lending trading, improving operational and execution functionality
  • Actively review client holdings to extract maximum revenue across all asset classes
  • Define and implement trading strategies in accordance with client mandated guidelines, offering suggestions to clients to increase performance
  • Ensure trading activity aligns with client and Bank policies and procedures
  • Liaising with Agency Lending teams to support management of the business including Global Trading, Operations, Client Management, Technical Sales, Risk and Compliance
  • Monitor and aggregate industry data including performance benchmarking and reporting.
  • Ability to analyze and execute money market eligible securities transactions (CP, Repo, etc.).
  • Expand borrower base to distribute supply of program assets including equities and fixed income, global and domestic supply
  • Engage with industry vendors and internal partners to expand agency lending opportunities with prospects and clients
  • Lead several project management work-streams to achieve efficiency in operating model and business development


Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics or similar field;
  • Proven track-record of leadership and mentoring individuals along with substantial counterparty relationships
  • Proficient with industry standard programs, tools and models with advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Has excellent attention to detail within a highly process-driven role
  • Must team oriented, a self-starter and proactive, with the ability to think and analyze situations
  • Ability to perform well under pressure & meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Has the ability to multi-task & manage various ad-hoc projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong business analysis and problem solving skills; Able to be given delegated responsibility to define appropriate solutions
  • The candidate will be aware of the large financial risks that can be incurred through operational errors and negligence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Financial markets
  • Previous experience of Securities Lending, minimum of 5 years
  • Light coding skills to implement automation into daily processes

The expected starting salary range for this position in New York is between $150,000-190,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
