The Boeing Company is looking for an Entry Level Software Engineer - Linux Engineer to join the Boeing Linux team located in Mesa, AZ. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Engineering Test & Technology (ET&T) business organization.

This position requires an understanding of system technologies and Linux kernel internals. As part of the Boeing Linux team, you will become an expert in one or more Linux subsystems and develop certification artifacts to demonstrate safety for use across The Boeing Company’s entire product portfolio.
Linux Engineers will work in multi-disciplinary teams. This position requires the candidate to have a full-stack mindset and be involved in continuous improvement of the software development environment and tools utilized by the kernel development team.
Position Responsibilities:
• Develops, documents and maintains certification artifacts for Linux.
• Participates in daily scrums, using agile practices, to communicate clearly and openly on incremental progress and to inform the team of any help needed on impediments and roadblocks and suggest timely remedies for common ailments during retrospectives.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• College project work on Linux operating systems
• College project work experience with C, C++, C#
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• Internship or 1+ years of experience of Linux operating systems
• Internship or 1+ years of experience with C, C++, C#
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages
• Passion for open-source projects and collaborations
• Real-time software development experience
• Participation in total software development lifecycle
• Experience with UNIX-like systems
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering or computer science (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Travel:
Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.

Summary pay range for Entry Level: $64,600.00 - $101,200.00
