Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join the B-1 Software Development team located in Tinker AFB, OK. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.This position will manage a team of software engineers that are responsible for software development activities of the Avionics Flight Software, Graphics Controller Software, and Simulation Software used on or with the B-1 Bomber. In addition to aircraft software, this management position will include oversight of research and development, as well as internal applications development, programs that are relevant to the platform.Position Responsibilities:• Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering• Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals• Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes• Manages, develops and motivates employeesThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start).Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science• 3+ years of experience leading or managing software engineering activities• Experience with software architecture and software implementation• Strong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):• A strong, influential leadership style that moves people to act, motivates and inspires excellence and innovation• Ability to proactively and quickly make sense of complex issues• Gains the trust of others by demonstrating openness and honestly, behaving consistently, and acting in accordance with moral, ethical, professional, and organizational guidelines• Experience with mentoring, coaching, and growing software engineering teams• Knowledge of and experience working in embedded software engineering aerospace environmentsTypical Education/Experience:Typical education and experience described in our standard level guides are aligned to the type and number of years of experience/education required to perform the job in industry.
