Cafe Operations Specialist - West Wall Bar and Cafe

Cafe Operations Specialists are responsible for welcoming and assisting the customers at West Wall, SBP's Cafe and Bar, as well as maintaining a clean, safe, and presentable facility. Individuals in this position will process transactions at registers, prepare and serve coffee, beer, and food orders, support our mission of high quality customer experiences, and complete other unique customer service functions.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES


CUSTOMER SERVICE
  • Bring the West Wall experience to life by helping to create an inclusive environment where all customers and team members feel welcome
  • Actively responds to customer needs and feedback, Identifies, researches, and resolves customer issues.
  • Process transactions and orders in alignment with West Wall and SBP customer service goals.
  • Proactively engage with customers and the community in all areas of West Wall whether taking order for coffee, preparing food, or helping to host an event.
  • Be a team player, stay curious, adaptable and have a desire to learn and contribute
  • Perform restaurant opening duties to include but not limited to food preparation, stocking and rotating product, setting up displays, etc
  • Perform restaurant closing duties to include but not limited to storing product, cleaning restaurant and restaurant equipment
  • Prepare and serve quality beverage and food options in a community-oriented and fast-paced environment


CLEANING AND FACILITY MAINTENANCE
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and presentable facility and retail area for members and guests.
  • Maintains and stocks retail and food prep areas
  • Works with the maintenance team and other staff to perform regular cleaning duties.
  • Follows opening and closing cleaning and facility procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid WA State Food Worker card
  • 21 yrs or older
  • Current certification for responsible alcohol service.


$17.27 - $21 an hour

It is imperative to maintain excitement about the culture and community at the Seattle Bouldering Project. Cafe Operations Specialists are at the forefront of this aspect of the gym. Cafe Operations Specialists are the representative of the community supported by West Wall and SBP and must conduct themselves accordingly.


WORKING CONDITIONS


Many duties require the availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs and events, including evenings and weekends. Staff duties often occur before and after operating hours. 


COMPENSATION

Additional benefits include free gym membership for employee and significant other, 401k plan, sick and safe time in accordance with local laws, retail discounts, work/life balance for all employees; healthcare and PTO is available for employees averaging at least 30 hours/week.
