Superintendent - Heavy Civil

Job Summary: Manage and oversee project operations in collaboration with the Project Manager or General Superintendent, ensuring all aspects of the project are executed effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project documents and collaborate with the team to ensure a comprehensive understanding before commencement.

• Engage in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation with the Project Manager.

• Oversee subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely submission of project-related materials and documents.

• Address project changes promptly and manage change orders in coordination with the Project Manager.

• Ensure safety and quality standards are upheld on-site, maintaining proper documentation and conducting regular safety meetings.

• Monitor project costs and progress, reporting any discrepancies to the Project Manager.

• Handle utility conflicts, yard locations, and permits as needed.

• Maintain daily records of project activities and manage the completion of as-built plans.

• Supervise the workforce, including hiring and termination decisions, following proper procedures.

Qualifications:

• General knowledge across various construction disciplines.

• Comprehensive understanding of construction technology, equipment, methods, engineering, cost control, schedules, and safety.

• Proficiency in design and construction documentation.

• Clean driver’s license: bilingual abilities are a plus.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction or Civil Engineering.

• Minimum of eight years in construction management or supervision.

• Equivalent experience and training that meet job requirements may be considered.
