To counteract these evolving risks, cutting-edge technologies are being continually developed to not only detect and address breaches but also to mitigate risks before they escalate.The FellowshipWe are looking for a full-time, paid Fellow to join our Security and Defense technology unit for a 6-month remote contract (based in the US). Top performers may have the chance to join the portfolio company they help build as a founding team member where they would receive seed-stage equity. You’ll report directly to our Managing Partner, William Abecassis, former founder of BlackRock's $1B+ venture group.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Fellow, you will lead and drive our Innovation Programs, the core pipeline for our investments and incubations. These programs explore the use of technology to innovate within the field of corporate physical and digital security management. You will collaborate with senior partners, other Fellows, advisors, and founding teams including former senior leaders from the intelligence community and law enforcement.Your responsibilities will include:• Planning and executing "Innovation Programs," involving research, analysis, and synthesis through Opportunity Exploration, Solution Design, and Cobuilding Development.• Producing insights in various formats, such as investment memos, business plans, white papers, and social media posts.• Supporting investments as part of Braven's "cobuild" team, which acts as internal consultants to enhance portfolio companies' strategies.Note: Due to Braven’s unique investment model, this role does not involve traditional deal sourcing typical of mainstream venture firms.Experience and Skills• Background: Minimum of two years in the Intelligence Community, in a strategy consulting role and/or directly with the intelligence community or corporate security function• Previous Fellows: Typically possess 5-15 years of professional experience, but candidates outside this range are still encouraged to apply.• Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of latest trends in intelligence, security and defense industries with an emphasis on risk mitigation and crisis response• Analytical Skills: Proven track record of high performance through data gathering, analysis, hypothesis testing, and clear communication of recommendations.• US Citizen: Due to the nature of the contracts this team works on, we are only able to consider US Citizens at this time.Attributes for Success:• Structured approach to ambiguity, project management, and results-driven work.• Systems thinking and data analysis to achieve 10x results.• Growth mindset, innate curiosity, and creative problem-solving skills.• Strong communications abilities to translate complex topics for varied audiences.• High EQ, relationship-building skills, and effective operation under pressure.Advantages of Working at BravenBraven is engineered to co-build companies addressing the most significant opportunities of the next few decades.
