Data Analyst (Contract)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Analyst gathers, analyses, and reports data related to Tayco’s operational performance metrics. The Data Analyst will participate in complex and time-sensitive projects. They are responsible for ensuring data is presented in a clear and actionable manner while supporting the Operations Team with information that assists their decision making. This will be a contract position for the duration of 6 Months.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·       Gather data from internal and external sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

·       Clean, organize, and maintain datasets to ensure data integrity and consistency.

·       Use database management tools to efficiently store, retrieve, and manage data.

·       Analyze datasets using statistical methods to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.

·       Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or R to communicate findings effectively.

·       Identify and address business challenges through data-driven solutions and recommendations.

·       Create and deliver comprehensive reports summarizing key metrics, trends, and actionable insights.

·       Present findings to stakeholders clearly and concisely, enabling informed decision-making.

·       Monitor and analyze performance indicators, providing regular updates and insights.

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and gather requirements.

·       Translate business objectives into clear, actionable data requirements.

·       Support data-driven decision-making across departments by providing reliable and timely analysis.

·       Apply predictive modeling, trend analysis, and other statistical techniques to forecast and optimize outcomes.

·       Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation through data insights.

·       Other duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.

·       Experience in data analysis or a related field (or equivalent academic experience).

·       Ability to work with large datasets and perform data cleaning and manipulation.

·       Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

·       Experience with databases and querying languages (e.g., SQL).

·       Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, R).

·       Proficiency with SmartSheet is an asset.

·       Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

·       Experience with statistical analysis and modeling.

·       Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

·       Excellent communication and presentation skills.
