Underwriting: Our team of Underwriters has a wealth of experience in our programs and the industries they serve. We combine our underwriting expertise with our broad authority and proprietary technology in an online portal that offers clients real-time pricing and submission review. This increased efficiency and 24/7 access helps clients grow their business.
Claims Management: We support our clients with claims advocacy. Our team is in our client’s corner to assist with adjusters, reserve changes, litigation and all other claims-related details that affect one’s business. This service separates us from our competitors by giving clients more control over their claims and program performance.
Analytics: Data guides our work. Through client data collection, we regularly deliver benchmarking reports that include valuable information like claims projections, class-code analysis, and performance statistics. These metrics enable us to provide competitive pricing and forecasting. Customized reports are available to best serve client needs.
Position Overview
This role is responsible for support, analysis, design, development, and implementation of insurance solutions. The business analyst will work closely with the VP of Technology, dedicated engineering resources and stakeholders within ASCS. This is a highly visible role within a growing operating company that is part of the Amwins Underwriting Division.
Responsibilities
  • Become an expert in ASCS and Amwins technology solutions.
  • Learn the various products and distribution channels within ASCS, as well as the role of various external stakeholders, including re-insurers, front carriers, brokers, retailers, etc.
  • Execute on initiatives that focus on new technology projects and process optimization; initiatives will require end-to-end engagement from initial assessment through recommendation and implementation.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize features
  • Aid in the development and delivery of solution roadmaps
  • Test new features and facilitate user acceptance testing with stakeholders
  • Provide product support for various insurance applications and data pipelines
  • Communicate with stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Document and maintain application knowledgebase and support materials
  • Help expand the consistent application of our tools and processes across ASCS as it grows both vertically and horizontally (i.e., across new lines of businesses).
  • Evaluate and implement tools and technologies in collaboration with GST Ops and IT that will help improve our offering in the market and/or reduce cost.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
  • Track and measure product performance
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, product management or a related field
  • Experience in the P&C insurance industry preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Has entrepreneurial mindset, is engaged, will see opportunity where others may not and initiate action
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct analysis, and make data driven recommendations
  • Desire to be part of a fast growing, nimble team, but willing to help create infrastructure where necessary and prioritize resources appropriately
  • Comfortable with technology and data and leveraging those to support a position or develop and drive an initiative
  • Proficient in SQL and data visualization tools (PowerBI preferred)
