ABOUT THE ROLE:

As Business Operations Manager at Bluevine, you will use analytical rigor and sound business thinking to drive strategic decisions and position Bluevine as a best in class financial services platform for small businesses. The Business Operations Manager will partner with line managers and executives to diagnose and resolve operational inefficiencies, design go-to-market strategies, and incubate new roles or functions. In this highly analytical role, you will directly contribute to Bluevine's success by refining our strategic direction and driving our successful execution.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Support and act as an extension of the General Manager of our Banking business unit by identifying and characterizing opportunities and risks, conducting ad hoc analyses, leading high-priority initiatives, supporting functional teams in business planning, and summarizing business performance for executive consumption
  • Lead cross-functional projects to increase customer lifetime value; areas of responsibilities may include optimizing the onboarding funnel and new client conversion, analyzing existing client retention, and developing product cross-sell and pricing strategies
  • Devise go-to-market strategy, including new product launches, channel mix, acquisition and distribution strategy; partner closely with our Finance, Product, Marketing and Commercial teams
  • Drive business process improvement efforts as we scale our business. We understand the need to continually improve our internal processes and will look to our BizOps team to help identify inefficient systems, streamline key processes, and create scalable, replicable SOPs to help us continue our rapid growth
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand value drivers and client needs, produce ROI analysis, and partner with leaders throughout the organization to plan and execute new initiatives
  • Once new processes are implemented, you'll work with teams to analyze results and produce business performance reporting, scale best practices, and iterate when needed
  • Support corporate and business unit strategy development through research and analysis

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

  • Bachelor's degree from a top university
  • 3-6 years of experience in strategy or operations roles (Preferred: 2+ years experience at top management consulting firm)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills: defining business problems and alternatives soundly, scoping and conducting analyses to best inform decision-making, making recommendations with clear articulation of tradeoffs
  • Excellent analytical skills, including experience with large data sets (existing SQL and Tableau proficiency preferred but not required) and ability to build operational models with little oversight
  • Ability to drive alignment and strong cross-functional execution through verbal and written communication, including presentations to executive audiences
  • Comfort probing others' plans and supporting refinement to drive maximum impact for Bluevine
  • Ability to drive progress on multiple projects concurrently, including in a leading role, while fielding ad hoc requests and performing ongoing responsibilities associated with your role in the business unit
  • Excitement for both big-picture corporate and business unit strategy and nitty-gritty operational problem-solving
  • Passion for working in a fast-paced, dynamic, global environment
