Join us.About TeamWe are seeking an innovative AI Space Interaction Industrial Designer to join our design team and create the next generation of consumer intelligent products. This role bridges the gap between design thinking and emerging technologies, focusing on translating complex technological capabilities into meaningful consumer experiences.Responsibilities• Lead Exploration & Prototyping:• Drive the technical exploration and prototyping of innovative consumer intelligent products.• Translate emerging technologies into tangible and impactful consumer experiences through rapid prototyping.• Collaborate Across Disciplines:• Partner with industrial designers, UX researchers, and engineers to develop feasible technical solutions.• Create proof-of-concept prototypes showcasing new interaction possibilities.• Strategy & Mentorship:• Guide technology selection and implementation strategies for consumer products.• Mentor team members on creative technologies and methodologies.• Framework Development:• Develop technical frameworks supporting new product experiences.• Contribute to product strategy by identifying opportunities for technological innovation.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:• Master’s degree in Interaction Design, Industrial Design, CS, or Engineering, with a related field and 5+ years of experience in creative technology, product development, industrial design, or related fields.• Strong portfolio showcasing innovative, user-focused technological solutions with extensive experience with physical computing and interactive prototyping.• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools, including Rhino, Fusion 360, Keyshot, Unity, or Unreal Engine.• Strong knowledge of sensing technologies (e.g., ToF, lidar, structured light) and multimodal interactions.• Deep understanding of emerging technologies and their application in consumer products and industrial design principles and manufacturing processes.Preferred Qualifications:• Experience with AR/VR/MR devices and ambient computing systems.• Hands-on knowledge of AI/ML concepts, including computer vision, sensor fusion, or neural networks.• Programming skills in Python, C++, or similar languages.• Familiarity with human-computer interaction (HCI) methodologies and usability testing.• Strong patent or publication record in innovative interaction or design fields.• Experience leading multidisciplinary design and development projects.• Expertise in real-time data processing and embedded AI/ML implementations.• Familiarity with wireless protocols such as Bluetooth, WiFi, Matter, or Thread.ByteDance is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives.
