Job DescriptionThe Network Engineer will have direct responsibilities for developing and maintaining integrated strategies and solutions for Network Services in the global Caesars environment. Network Services includes the following core technologies: Wide Area Networks, Metropolitan Area Networks, and Local Area Networks. They will function as a member of the Network Engineering team to define and realize major data and voice network strategies. Duties of the position will focus on collecting requirements, developing strategies, engineering solutions, supporting new implementations, and working with other teams to ensure alignment of plans, initiatives, and services. Additional duties will include participating in projects involving new technologies and significant enhancements to Network Services; facilitating, documenting, and implementing standards; and delivering consulting advice to other internal teams. This position will involve troubleshooting and problem resolution assistance while implementing new technologies and systems as an escalation point for Network Engineering. Participation in an after-hours on-call rotation will be required.Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:• Responsible for the planning, implementation and supporting of the strategic network systems.• Performs installation, troubleshooting, and problem determination and resolution.• Work with other technical groups, developers and management to resolve complex business, computer system and network communication problems.• Plan and coordinate all network installations, changes and updates with vendors and users, adhering to the I.T. Change Control Process.• Identify reoccurring and potential operations problems. Recommend controls for prevention. Report results from technical research, system performance reports and problem resolutions to upper-management.• Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion.• Conducts effective cost-benefit analysis on system enhancements and improvements.• Monitors the overall vendor performance and escalates within Caesars management as appropriate.• Help develop and document the network system requirements• Expert knowledge and experience with performing network analysis to identify sources of problems that affect networking performance.• Develop network system concepts which meet business requirements• Conduct network system sizing and performance analysis and document the results in system engineering reports• Manage subcontracts for procured system components• Support writing detailed system test procedures and system integration and test efforts.• Document the network system testing in detailed test reports and support sell-off to the customer• Utilize tools for troubleshooting including logs, wireshark, tcpdump, ping and traceroute.• Manage load balancersKnowledge And Experience• Minimum 2 years work experience in Networking technologies.• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.• Network Certifications: Cisco CCNA, CCNP Routing, CCIE or Juniper JNCIA, JNCIE desired.• Systems: Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks, UNIX, Linux, Microsoft• Networking: EAP/PEAP and WPA authentication protocols, Switches, Routers, Servers, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, VoIP, QoS, SIP, VoIP, PPP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, SmartBits, NetMRI, NetScout, Op Manager, ExtraHop 802.11 (Including 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, 802.11i and 802.11ac), Autonomous AP, Spectrum Analysis, RF Frequencies, Beaconing, CAP, WAP, LWAPP, EoIP• Candidates for this engineering position should be subject matter experts with a depth of skill and knowledge of the architecture and strategic direction of voice/data network and related technologies.• Successful candidates will have interest in and a breadth of knowledge across technology disciplines and will be able to convert complex information into simple, readable form.• Candidates should possess knowledge of LAN/WAN network interface related components (e.g. switches, PBXs, routers, firewalls, and gateways), knowledge of computing topologies, and knowledge of transport protocols (IP, VoIP, QoS, SIP etc.). Additional helpful skills include knowledge of Cisco/Juniper equipment, SDN, SD-WAN & MPLS; experience in UNIX operating environments and network and system management products (Op Manager, ExtraHop, & Sniffer).• To be successful in the position, the candidate must be results-driven with a bias towards practical applications.
