Talent Specialist-Full Time (Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Designs and executes aggressive tactics to build applicant pipeline.
  • Is responsible for the full cycle recruitment process from start to finish.
  • Maintain accurate count and tracking of candidate flow.
  • Maintains accuracy and updates of all job descriptions, organizational charts and compensation tracking.
  • Is responsible for ongoing communication between Harrah’s Ak-Chin and the applicant; maintains relationship up to on-boarding.
  • Processes all secondary job code requests.
  • Initiates proactive recruitment and sourcing strategies to meet staffing demands with minimum time to fill.
  • Maintains, promotes and executes team member referral program to maximize team member participation when necessary.
  • Partners with Marketing on all Social Networking sites (Facebook, Linkedin. Instagram and Twitter) to build relationships with potential candidates and expand potential recruitment pool. 
  • Develops communication for recruitment HOH TV’s.
  • Responsible for coaching leaders on behavioral interviewing techniques and other programs as assigned.
  • Contacts and develops relationships with educational institutions, local and state employment agencies, and other organizations that will assist Harrah’s in identifying new applicants.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining collateral or other information to be used for facilitating company job opportunities to potential applicants.
  • Coordinates and attends job fairs (internal and external) to attract new team members to Harrah’s Ak-Chin.
  • Develops internship relationships with colleges and other accredited educational institutions.
  • Prescreens and refers qualified applicants to company hiring personnel for follow-up interview.
  • Identifies attributes of high potential applicants with hiring Managers amongst all positions to ensure we are selecting quality applicants.
  • Timely and consistent correspondence with job applicants to notify them of employment consideration.
  • Co-facilitates new hire orientation class.
  • Provides Property leaders with biweekly recruitment stats and trends.
  • Analyses negative trends in onboarding rescinds and declines and proposes solutions for the root causes
  • Provides compensation information to management and makes recommendations.
  • Responds to all team member and applicant inquiries in a courteous and professional manner, within 24 hours of receiving the call. 
  • Interacts with and assists applicants in an upbeat, positive and professional manner.
  • Acts as a role model to other team members and presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
  • Executes all administrative duties associated with the selection, on boarding and transfer process for all internal and external candidates.
  • Maintains all job descriptions and organizational charts

 

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Travels off site to recruitment events
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 
  • High School diploma or GED required. 
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Human Resources Recruiting required. 
  • College preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Human Resources activities, laws, and methods of operations within a 24-hour/7-day hospitality and entertainment environment is preferred.   
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills, strong project management skills, and good interpersonal skills. 
  • Bilingual Preferred

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

  • Spanish speaking preferred. 
  • Excellent navigational skills via Social Media 
  • Excellent follow up skills
  • Must be a self- learner/motivator
  • Attention to detail

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds. 
  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area. 
  • Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a phone, PC computers, fax machine and photocopier. 
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. 
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. 
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
