The Independent Sales Force (ISF) works directly with retail independent pharmacies, long-term care pharmacies and community health centers to contract on pharmaceutical and OTC products as well as program solutions. Our sales consultants are experts in pharmacy operations that support our customers with critical pharmacy tasks like inventory management, financial reimbursement, and reconciliation of prescription claims.Job Summary:The Vice President of Sales will lead the Central Region, Retail Independent Sales Force. This leader will have ~8 direct reports with a total sales organization size of ~70. This position coaches, develops and leads a team of sales leaders to achieve business results. They will lead their team through complex deal development and negotiation as well as effectively forecast and develop a sales strategy for their region. They will be responsible for driving the growth and retention of customers, leadership development, and leading segment or enterprise-wide initiatives.This is a highly visible role within our organization and reports to our SVP of Retail Independent Sales.Central Region: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Northern Iowa, Northern Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, West Virgina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and FloridaResponsibilities:• Leads a large sales team including people leaders to achieve business results• Support the Sales Directors in efforts to grow sales revenue and gross margin year over year through cold calling for new business and organically through our existing customer base• Build strong relationships with the key customers in the region along with the buying group board members and leaders in their regions• Work with key stakeholders of all internal departments to increase efficiency and enhance the customer experience• Develops strategy and executes key financial management for their assigned region• Drive profitable deal structure and creation & lead complex deal development and negotiation• Effectively forecast and develop a business plan for sales (i.e., strategy, roadmap and measurement)• Creates strategies to capture market share from competitors while maintaining margins• Build the business case to pursue a new opportunity• Establishing and managing an operational budget. Meet challenging margin improvement goals• Influences price/margin strategy.
