It focuses on developinginnovative algorithms and models to address complex problems indiverse fields such as robotics, healthcare, and finance. Thedepartment offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs,fostering a collaborative environment that bridges theoreticalresearch and practical applications. Faculty and studentsfrequently collaborate with industry and other academic disciplinesto push the boundaries of what is possible with machinelearning.We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide generaloffice management support. In this role, you will coordinateadministrative aspects of programs and projects, draftcorrespondence, and reports, provide detailed information tovarious partners, and serve as a liaison with campus departments toensure smooth operations.Core Responsibilities:• Coordinates various administrative duties or projects, i.e.,data collection, mass mailings of reports or newsletters,circulating journal submissions, project deadlines, commencement,lecture series, travel arrangements, etc.• Provides calendar management for assigned faculty, andprocesses confidential information and correspondence in a discreetand professional manner.• Handles office equipment and supply levels, handling roomreservations, and meeting support, responding directly tocorrespondence and inquiries.• Assists with purchasing, expense/travel reimbursements andpurchasing card verifications.• Serves as initial contact and liaison, providinginformation/coordination via phone or in person with otheruniversity departments an outside organizations.• Assists in the research, preparation, and processing ofinformation.• Helps department with operational improvements, recommendschanges and participates in department improvement projects andprocesses.• Performs other duties as assigned.Inclusion and cultural sensitivity are valued competencies at CMU.Therefore, we are in search of a team member who can optimallyinteract with a varied population of diverse audiences.
