Catalant is looking for an Accounting Manager to serve as a key member of the Finance team with a broad spectrum of accounting and financial responsibilities.  Reporting to the VP of Finance & Accounting, this role requires a strong accounting skill set, and a strong background in driving an efficient monthly close process in accordance with GAAP. The ideal candidate will be action-oriented, enjoy a fast-paced environment, and have a strong accounting skill set, excellent leadership and communication skills. Our team is based out of the Boston Seaport, and this is a hybrid role with the expectation that you will work out of our Boston office 1x/week.


What You'll Do:
  • Manage the period-end close process including preparation and/or review of account reconciliations for all accounts in coordination with the Staff Accountant
  • Drive efficiency through processes, procedures, and automation 
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting for management and external stakeholders
  • Assist with budget vs. actual and department-level reporting and partner with function heads to make data-driven business decisions
  • Maintain business process documentation and assist with financial system implementations
  • Play a significant role in annual audits providing supporting documentation for transactions, reconciliation detail and analysis
  • Participate in cost-saving initiatives related to people and non-people expenses, manage vendor relationships, and ROI reporting
  • Work closely with various teams throughout the company including Financial Operations, People, Legal, and Sales


What You'll Bring:
  • 5+ years  of relevant experience in Accounting and/or Finance 
  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or similar accreditation is desirable
  • Hands-on experience in financial accounting tools (Salesforce.com and Netsuite a plus)
  • Advanced Microsoft excel skills required (pivot table, VLookups, etc)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative team player, self-motivated and directed, reliable
