Job Overview
The Senior Director of Training & Development will oversee the creation, implementation, and management of training programs for internal employees. This role is vital to ensuring that CCS colleagues are equipped with the Core, Common and Critical skills and knowledge required to succeed in a fast-paced, client-focused philanthropic environment. The Senior Director will design, evaluate and deliver training assets to support workforce readiness, leadership development and overall employee professional growth. Additionally, the role will focus on driving operational excellence, improving employee engagement, and aligning training programs with the company and Human Resources strategic goals.
Training Strategy Development
- Design and development of comprehensive training programs tailored for internal colleagues at all levels (both client facing individual contributors and all enabling function colleagues, people managers and senior executive at all levels).
- Develop both onboarding and ongoing training programs, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify training needs and skill gaps across all levels of the organization.
Program Management & Delivery
- Manage the scheduling, facilitation, and delivery of training programs including in-person, virtual, and e-learning sessions.
- Design interactive training content, including videos, presentations, workshops, and job aids.
- Partner with department heads to ensure training is integrated into overall performance management.
- Complete understanding of Learning management system
- Build productive relationships with vendor and all CCS business partners
Talent Development
- Implement leadership development programs aimed at identifying and growing future leaders within the organization.
- Create individual development plans (IDPs) for employees to ensure career progression and enhance job performance.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to help employees achieve their professional goals.
Evaluation & Reporting
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, and performance metrics.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to employee performance, in order to create targeted learning.
- Prepare and present regular reports on training outcomes and areas for improvement to executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, education, psychology Industrial/clinical or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in training and development, with at least 3 years in a learning and development role.
- Experience in the staffing or recruitment industry is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing successful training programs, particularly in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Skilled instructional designer, skilled in the use of instructional design tools
- Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and other training technologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in a team environment
- Will to travel when required approximately 25%
- Able to provide access to a learning program portfolio
- Willing to provide a live demonstration of their delivery skills
- This is a hybrid role based out of the Chicago office

- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools, and the ability to adapt to new technologies.

SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $125,000
Exact salary varies within salary range based on years of relevant experience and education.
