Automation Specialist - Lincoln, Nebraska

This Automation Specialist position is a hands-on position working with the laboratory automation systems, LIMS, and electronic laboratory notebook. Become the subject matter expert for all laboratory automation systems. This position is not a remote opportunity, and will be onsite at our Lincoln, Nebraska location.


Essential Funtions:
  • Run/learn software for liquid-handling and instrument-tending laboratory robots
  • Collaborate with scientists to translate scientific protocol requirements into application software
  • Support Automation Scientists with Method Development, Validation, new equipment setup, and computerized system validation
  • Responsible for development and validation of automated methods for bioanalysis
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert to provide training and support, as needed, for automation techniques
  • Prepare/review documents for method validation to include protocols and reports
  • Perform maintenance on all applicable automation equipment
  • Troubleshoot field service issues
  • Process/extract samples for analysis using automation if needed
  • Extensive knowledge of all automation (SciClone, Hamilton, etc.) in labs
  • Effective time management and organization skills
  • Timely response to QC/QA audit findings
  • Serve as a trainer/mentor
  • Provide support and input for troubleshooting
  • Perform Method Development/Validation batch work


Knowledge/Skills/Education/Licenses:
  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a science, engineering or computer science field and 2+ years experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 1 year experience
  • Requires experience with common analytical techniques
  • Previous knowledge of automation systems such as Hamilton, Sciclone, etc.
  • Previous knowledge of LIMS and electronic Laboratory Notebook systems
  • Proficiency with computers
  • Work onsite at our Lincoln, Nebraska location
