Central Valley has been voted among the Best Places to work in the North Bay by the North Bay Business Journal. We are currently seeking a Lead Yard/Customer Service Associate for our Napa facility.
The Lead Yard/Customer Service Associate locates, loads and unloads building materials in the yard and warehouse. Writes accurate yard tags to ensure proper inventory count and a smooth customer transaction. Maintains a safe and clean work environment. Acts as a leader in the yard, distributes tasks to yard associates and assists the Assistant Manager, Yard in managing the dashboard. Performs routine supervision of loading and unloading materials within the yard and warehouse; instructs employees on how to assemble load packages onto trucks for delivery to customer job sites. Directs the process of cutting packs or re-saw material according to specifications.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
· 3+ years of customer service experience required
· 1+ years of forklift experience required
· 2+ years of yard/warehouse experience required
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
· Proactively helps customers locate the product they need and loads vehicles as necessary.
· Coaches yard associates to deliver positive, friendly, and proactive customer service
· Unloads and stocks incoming materials.
· Writes yard tags accurately with product code and quantity for purchase.
· Keeps all yard and warehouse areas clean, neat, safe, and secure.
· Assembles and loads products for delivery to customers, and transfers to other locations.
· Observes yard and warehouse for safety, potential theft, and security risks.
· Reviews vendor packing slip in order to verify quantity, product accuracy and condition, and turns into receiving.
· Resolves customer dissatisfaction with materials.
· Stores material safely to prevent damage.
· Stocks inventory neatly in the proper location within the yard and/or warehouse.
· Rotates stock to maintain product quality – retail ready.
· Identifies different building materials and wood products.
· Operates and maintains the forklift and other yard equipment safely.
· Completes daily forklift checklist
· Measures and cuts materials by operating a power saw.
· Strives for zero product damage while loading and unloading.
· Reports all damages to the supervisor immediately.
· Attends safety meetings regularly.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
· Assists inventory with daily cycle counts
· Exhibits Brand Behaviors consistently.
· Acts as Assistant Manager, Yard when needed.
· Participates in facility leadership meetings as needed.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
· Bilingual in English/Spanish highly desired
· 3+ years of customer service experience required
· 1+ years of forklift experience required
· 2+ years of yard/warehouse experience required
· Strong measuring skills required
· Familiarity with power and hand tools preferred
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· High School diploma or GED preferred
· 3+ years of lumber industry or similar experience strongly preferred
· Logistics experience a plus
· 3+ years supervisory experience preferred
· 3+ years managing or driving operational processes or procedures preferred
