Plumbing Project Designer I

At CESO, a Plumbing Project Designer I is responsible for performing technical assignments for small to large projects, completing all tasks on a project on time, on budget, and consistently within industry standards with little to no oversight. You will have primary responsibilities that include: 


Primary Responsibilities
  • Responsible for project design under the supervision of the Engineer of Record from concept through completion
  • Perform calculations and design engineering systems in collaboration with internal staff
  • Prepare intermediate to advanced system layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and schedules
  • Review shop drawings and equipment submittals for conformance to plan documents and project specifications
  • Prepare and modify studies, plans, reports, specifications, and designs for projects as directed
  • Apply local, state, and federal regulations
  • Adapt engineering information, codes, and standards into the project designs
  • Visit project sites to verify existing conditions and/or observe construction progress
  • Communicate design requirements with architects, contractors, and equipment manufacturer representatives to determine project scope and feasibility
  • Support engineers and project managers in daily planning, coordination, and completion of projects
  • Attend internal and external meetings
  • Other project duties as assigned


Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college and 5+ years of relevant experience or 7+ years of relevant design experience
  • Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE) and certification as an EIT with a state licensure board preferred
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, AEC industry, codes, and standards
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, BlueBeam, Revu, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and other industry software
