Designs, develops, and maintains software for a variety of engineering applications. Works with analysts to understand their analytic or interface requirements. Develops tools and interfaces. Designs, develops, and tests operating systems-level software, compilers, and tactical software applications. Key tasks include sprint development and execution support; SW development (coding and unit test development & execution); unit integration and testing, system level testing.
This position is located in Lawton, OK. Work on an agile development team where success is defined by the ability to understand your path forward, effectively communicate that path, and complete the task inherent to that path in a timely matter
Capable of working independently or in a scrum master capacity to design, develop and maintain software for the AFATDS development group
Ability to integrate COTS and GOTS code/applications into existing code base
Analyze system requirements, breaking down large objectives into smaller pieces that can be accomplished with a sprint via the refinement process
Communicate with leadership and the customer to ensure a common understanding of requirements
Contributing to the design of requirements as needed and translating design into software code, conveying the design concepts to Mid and Junior software developers.
Develop, execute, and verify unit and integration test cases
Pursue continuous improvement of software product, processes, and systems
Document your work for the benefit of your teammates, the user, leadership, and the customer
Perform design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation of program
Foster the growth of Mid and Junior software developers thru mentorship
Review code modifications for accuracy and suggesting potential improvements to implementations for developer growth.
A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or engineering discipline
8 years of functional software experience with Ada, C/C#/C++ and/or Java
Dues to the nature of the work, a US citizenship and a Secret clearance are required
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
Familiarity with DOD systems a strong plus (emphasis on AFATDS or C2 systems)
Knowledgeable in Agile methodology, scrum master certification definitely a plus
Familiar with Atlassian Suite products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo)
