Summary:
The Chaplain is primarily responsible for providing pastoral care to patients and their families, and in providing support to staff. In addition, the Chaplain will provide onsite coverage on days and times mutually agreed upon. Chaplain will provide Chaplaincy Services duties, as directed by the Hospital Chaplaincy Program Policy.
Responsibilities :
Spend most of the time visiting patients and their families at the Northern Light Mayo Hospital. a) Provide daily, regular, and systematic visitation with patients and families on assigned units, or on referral to other locations. b) Maintain daily, all department record-keeping requirements. c) Chaplain must be immediately available by phone/text and will attempt to coordinate call schedule with those that are available. Maintain a good working relationship with the unit team on assigned units. Provide pastoral support to team members. a) Maintain an ongoing relationship with unit team members through frequent contact. b) Attend team meetings when appropriate. Support the work of the department through involvement with occasional research and special projects or programs. a) Research or special projects should be carried out with care and completed in a timely manner. b) Regular attendance and appropriate contribution to the hospital is expected. c) Work collegially with all department staff and volunteers.
Other Information:
Qualifications: Participated in a Clinical Pastoral Education Unit at a general medical hospital, or one Chaplain Intern Program, must have demonstrated stability, tact, and possess a warm and caring personality, relate easily with persons of varying backgrounds and religious orientations, and finally must possess an ability to relate well with other hospital disciplines as a member of the caring team.
