Procurement Officer Assistant

Eastern Illinois University is seeking candidates for a Procurement Officer Assistant in the Office of Procurement, Disbursements, and Contract Services. This position will concentrate on procurement for Information Technology Services and Dining. Duties will include:

  • Assist with the bidding process. Secure quotes from qualified vendors.
  • Assist with awarding purchase orders.
  • Ensures that invoices are correct, and merchandise is received.
  • Work with department and vendors to rectify discrepancies.

Requirements for this position are any one or combination of the following, totaling six (6) months from the categories below:

  • Responsible work experience in fields that provide preparation for procurement work such as claim resolution, expediting, returned goods, and/or resolving billings.
  • 30 semester hours of college credit for course work in any field equals six(6) months.

Preferred requirements include being customer service-oriented, a team player, possessing high ethics, willing and able to learn quickly and adapt to ever-changing rules and regulations, and must be able to work independently in a fast-paced work environment.

The Civil Service Examination for this classification is a credentials assessment. No participation other than the submission of applicant materials is required from qualified applicants.
