JOB SUMMARY

This entry level position will access several components of Centricity and Allscripts to enter charges for multiple specialties and groups.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Employee will enter charges for all departments, from both paper fee tickets and Allscripts, accurately and timely once they are coded.
  • Maintain strict attention to detail on all Charge Entry.
  • Review charges while entering for basic facts needed, and provide feedback to Management and Coding on omissions found.
  • Enters visits on all paper fee tickets as needed to reach month end goals.
  • Perform Demographic entry and insurance verification as needed to meet our goals.
  • Meets Productivity expectations.
  • Resolves edits for demographics and insurance.
  • Completes batches to be filed in department file room on a daily basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior experience with data entry, preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Professional attitude
  • Must have excellent and accurate typing ability
  • Must adhere to HIPAA, and UofL Physicians compliance standards
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Dependability
  • Self-directed and work under producitivity guidelines
  • Ability to work as a team to achieve departmental goals

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Sedentary Work: Lifting 10lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying items as needed.
  • Frequent Talking (Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.)
  • Frequent Hearing (Perceiving the nature of the sounds by the ear.)
  • Frequent Seeing (Visual acuity, depth perception, field of vision, color vision).
  • Consistent use of hand movement for keyboarding purposes.
