Provides oversight and coordination of operating reports and statutory filings, establishes and maintains financial controls. The assistant controller assists in setting strategic direction for the accounting department, aligning department goals to help achieve its objectives.What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…Assisting local team in the direction of the accounting functions of an organizationEnsuring timeliness and accuracy of the financial statementsPreparation of budgets and financial reports and overseeing their evaluationPresenting the various accounting reports to the top management and making suitable observations and recommendationMonitoring investment policies and operations of the companyManaging operational data and maintaining data accuracy and integrityAudits work flow to ensure that all accounting transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting PrinciplesReviewing financial data periodically to ensure fairness and completeness of the dataReviews and justifies the expense reports and other expendituresDrive the preparation of monthly journal entriesResponsible for Project accounting including POC revenue recognitionHelps maintain accountability of the financial resources of the companyEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirementsHandles personally or supervises general ledger reconciliationsAssists Finance leadership with a variety of tasks as neededReviews monthly closing processes to prevent errorsHandles special projects as requested by managementHelps with preparation of the yearly auditHelps maintain the internal control environmentAssists with safeguarding the assets of investorsStays current on changes in regulations and other industry newsYour Education Should Be…Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance5 years of accounting experience (manufacturing accounting preferred)CMA or CPA preferredPeriodic weekend or evening work is expectedYour Physical Work Environment Will Require…Primarily in an office environmentThisis largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required.
