Your Mission:
As a Housing Counselor, you’ll play a vital role in delivering housing and financial literacy programs, offering personalized support and resources to individuals in need. Whether it's organizing workshops, conducting one-on-one counseling, or providing essential information on housing options, your efforts will directly help people build better lives through financial education and housing stability.

Your Impact:
As a Housing Counselor you will:
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging workshops on housing and financial topics such as pre- and post-purchase counseling, foreclosure prevention, and financial education, with materials tailored to bilingual audiences.
Provide personalized, individual counseling to guide clients through the homeownership process, help them avoid foreclosure, and assist them in maintaining financial health.
Assist clients with applying for subsidized housing, rental assistance, mortgage relief, property tax exemptions, and more.
Conduct outreach and marketing efforts to engage clients from diverse communities, using bilingual platforms such as newspapers and social media.
Maintain thorough case notes and accurate records in systems like Counselor Max, ECM, and Salesforce, ensuring timely case closures.
Represent the agency at community events and meetings when necessary, ensuring the mission and services of CASL are well-promoted and supported.
Must Haves
To thrive in this role, you should have:
At least one year of experience in housing counseling, financial literacy, or a related field, with a strong client service focus.
Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex financial and housing information in a clear, compassionate way.
Ability to pass the HUD Certification Exam within the first year of employment to continue your important work supporting our community.
Able to use computers and Microsoft 365
Excellent spoken and written English.
Nice to Haves
Bachelor’s Degree in related field from an accredited college or university
Basic experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems is a bonus.
Multilingual skills are a plus, with Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) proficiency preferred
Physical Demands:
Ability to bend and lift a minimum of 15 pounds.
Required to frequently sit, stand and walk for extended periods.
Environment and Scheduling:
Stanard business hours, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
